Suited for DTV systems, the AK4685 audio codec provides differential input/output and a stereo headphone amplifier that eliminates the need for large ac-coupling capacitors. An analog mute function controlled by pin settings avoids pop noises on power-up or -down, even when the power cord is suddenly disconnected.

With a three-port serial audio DSP interface, the four-channel ADC and two-channel DAC of the AK4685 can be operated asynchronously. The device is available in a 64-pin LQFP package. (Call company for pricing — available now.)
