Molex Releases Micro-Lock Plus Wire-to-Board Connector System

Molex has released a new Micro-Lock Plus wire-to-board connector system for automotive, industrial and consumer applications customers that delivers reliable electrical and mechanical performance in a compact, high temperature design. Customers who require a compact wire-to-board connector to achieve a high current rating of 3.0 amps will benefit from this new system.

Kazuhiko Ishikawa, global product manager at Molex, said: "The new features included in this connector system will make our customers' work easier. They provide high reliability in demanding environments and maintain a strong connection in tight applications. And the mortise lock can make a sound and avoid improper insertion, which is a common problem in other subminiature wire-to-board systems."

The Micro-Lock Plus wire-to-board connector system meets automotive, industrial and consumer applications and is rated for operation up to 105 ̊C. In addition, with this system, customers can purchase all the connectors from a single source and can order customized products.

Micro-Lock Plus terminal retention force provides electrical reliability for applications in rugged environments. Rated at a 105˚C operating temperature and 1.5A current rating, the Micro-Lock Plus Connector is ideal for general market applications. Rugged applications can be subject to shock, vibration or rough handling that can dislodge terminals and cause signal interference.

Micro-Lock Plus tin-bismuth plating offers reliability and lower applied costs. Tin plating can sometimes cause whiskering and signal intermittency, while more durable gold plating comes with a higher cost.
